![]() “Software” refers to certain software or other collateral, including, but not limited to, related components, operating system, application program interfaces, device drivers, associated media, printed or electronic documentation and any updates, upgrades or releases thereto associated with Intel product(s), software or service(s). You seek to obtain, and Intel desires to provide You, under the terms of this Agreement, Software solely for Your internal use or efforts to develop and distribute products integrating Intel hardware and Intel software. The Parties, in consideration of the mutual covenants contained in this Agreement, and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which they acknowledge, and intending to be legally bound, agree as follows: 1. Intel and You are referred to herein individually as a “Party” or, together, as the “Parties”. If you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of this Agreement on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent and warrant that you have the legal authority to bind that legal entity to the Agreement, in which case, "You" or "Your" shall be in reference to such entity. “You” refers to you or your employer or other entity for whose benefit you act, as applicable. If You intend to access the Cloud Services in addition to using the Software, the terms and conditions of Appendix B apply to Your access and use of the Cloud Services (as defined in Appendix B), in addition to the terms and conditions of this Agreement applicable to Your access and use of the Software. This SOFTWARE LICENSE AND CLOUD SERVICES AGREEMENT, including all appendices and exhibits (collectively, this “Agreement”) is entered into between Intel Corporation, a Delaware corporation (“Intel”) and You. If You do not agree to be bound by, or the entity for whose benefit You act has not authorized You to accept, these terms and conditions, do not install, access, copy, or use the Software or the Cloud Services and terminate Your access to the Cloud Services, and destroy all copies of the Software in Your possession. BY INSTALLING, COPYING, ACCESSING, OR USING THE SOFTWARE AND/OR THE CLOUD SERVICES, YOU AGREE TO BE LEGALLY BOUND BY THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THIS AGREEMENT. So my question is, it is possible to disable Smart Sound Technology for a specific USB audio device? Because the functionality is not only not useful for my device but detrimental.Intel Unite OBL Commercial Use License The terms of the software license agreement included with any software you download will control your use of the software. The current solution appears to be disabling Smart Sound Technology so the standard Microsoft audio drivers or other OEM drivers are used. So directing me to the computer OEM will be pointless as this is happening at a level totally controlled by Intel. This will occur across all manufacturers incorporating Smart Sound Technology. Second symptom is not working with the Windows kernel streaming audio interface causing application to fail. The first symptom is apparently disabling support for 24 bit audio. Unfortunately, some computers have added Smart Sound Technology for USB Audio that inserts itself in front of the standard microsoft audio drivers that work well with our device. So this issue will occur across all computer manufacturers. I have to try to provide support to customers of our products to try to get them to work. ![]() The products return vibration data instead of audio data but show up a USB microphones as far as Windows is concerned. ![]() I am with a company that has developed sensor products that use the USB Class 1 audio protocol. The computer manufacturer has to live with Intel design choices. I expect Intel will give me the run around and say contact the computer manufacturer though it really is an Intel issue with how Intel has developed the Smart Sound Technology software. ![]()
